Immunity Booster Juice

Between back to school, fall sports, and all olf the traditional holiday gatherings - I try to do what I can to boost the immunity of the people in my house - big and little.

And this winter immunity boosting is one juice that you need to add into the rotation. It’s delish!

GInger and turmeric have an amazing amount of antiviral and antibacterial properties while the oranges and lemons are loaded with Vitamins A and C to help build up your immunity system.

Blood Oranges - if you can find some grab them! They have all the benefits of oranges but include anthocyanins (what gives them the red hue) and are known for their additional antioxidant properties. When I make this juice, I typically use half blood oranges and half navel for my crew. As far as flavor goes, think of them as oranges sassy and tangy cousin. They have notes of a tart cherry and raspberry.

Oh! And if you wonder why the black pepper? Well, the black pepper contains compounds that assist in the absorption of curcumin in the turmeric which are otherwise metabolized pretty rapidly. It’s slows this process and aids in the absorption. So, don’t forget to sprinkle black pepper to any of your turmeric drinks to get the maximum benefits.

Let me know if you give it a try!
