Chocolate Collagen Elixir

As I get older, I’ll be 46 this month!, I’ve been adding collagen more and more into my diet.

Simply put, collagen is the richest protein in our body. It helps in the structure of our hair, skin, and nails, bones and ligaments. Think healthy shiny hair with glowing skin: thank collagen mainly for that. Over time collagen production slows down which contributes to sagging skin and fine lines. Collagen adds firmness and elasticity.

I love this elixir and drink it a couple of times a week. Actually mixing in a shot or two (or three!) of espresso for my morning coffee drink. It’s delicious!

If you want a thicker smoothie version you can add 1 large frozen banana to the recipe (I would cut down the date syrup to 1/2 tsp if so).

Hope you enjoy!
