What is an affogato, you ask? It’s an Italian dessert that combines ice cream with espresso, and perhaps a nut liqueor. In this version, I have topped mine with a finely chopped hazelnut nut butter chocolate bar, crushed toasted hazelnuts, and a drizzle of good chocolate syrup. Finally finishing with some flaky sea salt.
Creamy, salty & sweet, with bits of crunchy and a slight bite from the espresso shot.
If you do not have an espresso maker feel free to use coffee, I would go with a dark roast.
A perfect and simple dessert for an espresso lover. Me - I’m the espresso lover!
